One of the United States most used and recognized symbol is its flag, not only used on public buildings but very much loved and privately displayed by its patriotic citizen. The designer and who made the very first flag is not really known. Some records let to believe that the well known Betsy Ross a seamstress from Philadelphia sewed the first flag.
The History of the Service Flag
The Service Flag is used for display by families who have loved once serving in the Armed Forces in combat. It has become a tradition to cover the blue star with a gold star on the Service flag to indicate that the service member has been killed.
